In the joyful month of May 2026 IYAR-SIVAN. NM Jewish Journal
We'd like to be festive. We're not sure we can let go for a second though or the whole place will unravel. My father used to say the only thing he could be sure of was the sun would come up in the morning. Now I have a friend who is unwaveringly upbeat in the face of a difficult diagnosis. That is a bright light of joy for me to think on. Here's what we've got for you in this issue:
We have won Fifty awards - five oh. So you'll want to see what those are.
Finding Your Inner West, An Urban Cowgirl Conversation with Corinne Joy Brown - Interview by Gloria Abella Ballen
A Menorah in the Hallway by Jackie Wald
The Most Antisemitic Experience of My Life by Judith Fein, photos by Paul Ross
Little Edna's War: An Extraordinary Child in the Warsaw Ghetto by Dianne S. Layden
Old People in Tennis Shoes, New Rules: 370,000 New Mexico Independents Can Now Choose by Karen Wentworth, Central NM League of Women Voters.

But, you may say, isn't that only 49? The 50th is the Prize for Publications. AND there's more coming - stay tuned, we won TWO Rockowers, tba June 4th - the "Jewish Pulitzers"! with 1% of the revenue of our competitors in the national Jewish press.
